RDS West Midlands Parkinson's Disease Research Meeting 20th January 2017
With the support of the University of Birmingham Research Design Service (RDSWM), the West Midlands Parkinson's Disease Research Team will be holding the first of what they hope will become an annual research meeting for anyone with an interest in Parkinson's disease. The aim is to raise awareness of what work is ongoing and to stimulate new ideas for future collaborative work. In particular, the meeting will provide the opportunity for clinicians and more laboratory-based researchers to network.

Maximise your chance of securing a NIHR/ MRC Fellowship through meeting the funders and getting tips and tricks from successful applicants RDS WM will provide a unique opportunity to present your fellowship proposal and get feedback from funders and NIHR/MRC panel members.

RDS East meets West Away Day, 02nd March 2016 at Burleigh Court, Loughborough
At the forthcoming East Midlands/West Midlands event, RDS staff with a full range of roles from Keele, Birmingham, Warwick, Nottingham, and Leicester will be joined by panel members from the NIHR Health Services and Delivery Research and the NIHR Public Health Research schemes. These guests will join for discussions intended to increase the ability to support successful applications.
 
 
Research Lifecycle Event, Who's Who and How To
The College of Med & Dent's Research Knowledge and Transfer Office held a 'speed dating' session on Thursday 10 April 2014 to help staff introduce/familiarise themselves with the various departments across MDS and the University.
 
 
Research for Patient Benefit Workshop, 28 February 2014
To coincide with the recent launch of the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit Competition 24, the Research Design Service West Midlands (RDS WM) held a ‘Research Funding Application Workshop’ on Friday 28 February. The workshop was heavily oversubscribed; on the day staff helped over 20 researchers work on their funding bids.

RDS WM held an ‘Exploring Research Funding Day’ at the Barber Institute, University of Birmingham on 9 October 2013. This was not just to assist local researchers but also celebrate the award of a further five years funding for RDS WM.
